Making the most of your money

Much of retirement planning evolves around pensions, investments and tax allowances - maximising these, at the right time, with the right advice for your situation is key.

With the option to access your pension from as early as 55, there are several options available. Your existing pension provider may offer you any of the following:

Annuity – which is the traditional way to access your fund, providing a guaranteed level of income for life.

A lump sum – withdrawing up to 25% of your fund tax free.

Flexi-access drawdown – taking what you want, when you need it.

Phased tax free cash with income.

A combination of the above or a partial transfer of your pension– using part of your fund for one of the above options.

Alternatively, you may have the option to transfer your pension to another provider, who may offer more flexibility or better charges or annuity rates.
